Resolved Question: I feel I am being manipulated by my poker-addicted ex. What do you advise me to do?
After a very ugly break-up with my bf (he told me he only sees women as sex objects, and never liked me as a pal), I decided to clip him off from my life. I suffered a lot. After two months, he comes back and apologizes profusely, starts being every nice and friendly to me, but eventually asks for money which I suspect was used to fuel his gambling addictions. He also lured me into sleeping with him again, hinting that he wants to be with me again. But when I ask him to go out for dinner, he doesn't call back. Whenever I reach out to him, he disappears. I don't want this torture to go on any more. What should I do? I gave him another chance, thinking that he changed... please help.

Open Question: How can I compare Through the Looking Glass with Procter &Gamble?
Random, I know! Its for my senior thesis. I haven't done much research yet since it was only just assigned. But, I am to compare a novel and a 2nd discipline of the same time period and say how the compare or contrast with the stylistic norms of their time. My era is the Victorian Era. My novel is Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carrol. (1871) I would like to compare it to Procter&Gamble if possible. (1887) We are allowed to pick 2nd disciplines such as art, music, architecture, science, math, etc. I am very interested in business and would like to find a way to incorporate it into my senior project. It will be difficult since it isn't "stylistic" or arty... but I want to try it. The exact question I will be answering is: In what ways does Lewis Carrol's "Through the Looking Glass" and Procter&Gamble reflect or depart from the philosophical perspectives and stylistic norms of their time? Thanks for helping with this odd, and difficult question!!

Open Question: ok i have been asked to write a description of a fun fair and i cant finish it plz can anyone help me?
this is just what i have started plz i need somone to help me or give me suggestions on how to continue it As I approached the big illuminated blue and red golden gate that read ‘peter pan’s fairytale resort’ my eyes wondered around the multitude of crowd and the feeling of excitement tingled in my unsettled stomach. I feel warmed by the direct rays of the sun and I would odor the sweet highly enjoyable breeze that swept to my direction, blowing my soft black curly hair to frenzy. I make my way to the ticket stall where a lot of people jostling and running hysterical, trying to receive to the ticket stall first. I hear the ticket seller shouting obliviously at the crowd and there is a very silent yet tense atmosphere. The ticket seller was Ben Andrews has it was written boldly in his white and red-stripped uniform, he had a dirty bad scowl on his face that made me very intimidated and uncomfortable. I notice a lady with bulging shopping bags trying clumsily to clean the ice cream residue on the shirt of her little boy, who was in no means ready to cooperate. I look three triplets dressed in identical blue Cinderella costumes and licking pink, sticky candyfloss as they danced and swirled energetically to the pop music that filled the air. Everything looks surreal and I could odor the scrumptious appetizing donuts and burgers that filed my inquisitive nostrils but that is however rudely disturbed my the appalling odor of murky stale milky chocolate vomits that spread across the pavement of the arcade I was heading to. In arcade, there are lots of middle-aged tourists drinking big cans of alcohol, gambling with coin slots, playing pinballs and laughing to obscene jokes more to my discomfort. I caught a glance of a little girl holding tightly to the wrist of her hasty mom and concentrating on getting the last purple stuffed teddy bear left in the teddy bear crane machine. Her hair was bright with sunshine but her face, which was as full like her mom’s only pale rose pink instead of cream, wore a stern brooding look that her little tiny curved nose made almost hawk like. A moment later, she opened her eyes widely and her face lit up and I could look the huge grin plastered against her oval face as she hugged the purple teddy bear she wanted. “Yay! Mommy look I got it at the end!” the little girl said. “C’mon Gracie let receive out of this place” the mom said grabbing Gracie. I watched them aimlessly as they disappeared into the massive crowd, shoving and striding in circles. I notice a tourist tossing greasy fried chips to the seagulls in the water park resort and I almost run into a jaywalking family slurping on soggy cones of thawing ice cream. I ahead to the marigold ride when I am distracted by the big spooky Ghost train at the corner. I notice the painted ghouls and goblins of the Devil’s Ghost train which stands out against the crystal clear blue sky, promising to bring doom, dread and danger to every those who dare to enter. PLZ ANYONE GIVE ME ANYMORE SUGGESTIONS

Open Question: Who paid the difference?
I took a mortgage backed by Fannie Mae and purchased a home in 1998 for $250,000. And in 2006 I sold that home for $400,000 and paid off the remainder of the loan, and pocketed a nice $150,000 profit. And I enjoyed such business so much that I obtained another mortgage from Fannie Mae and purchased another home for $500,000. But alas this time real estate markets collapsed and the price of my second home dropped to $325,000 and I simply walked away from my second home and lost some $25,000 which was my downpayement. As the result of every my speculations I earned $125,000 for doing absolutely nothing, but gambling the system. I am looking forward to Sen. Dodd settting up another such profitable scheme in the name of helping the needy.

Resolved Question: What are the odds of winning or losing this parlay bet?
There is a betting progression in gambling known as the "31 Parlay" that goes something like this: 1-1-1-2-2-4-4-8-8 Let's say your unit betting size is $1. So you start over at that first level, $1. If you win at that first level (or any other level in the progression), you parlay your bet (also known as "let it ride"). If you then win the doubled bet (the parlayed bet), then you start the progression every over again. In other words, you have to win TWO consecutive bets to win your wager and then start over. When you do win two bets in a row, you will win a certain amount of money -- anywhere from 1 to 9 units, depending on where in the progression you both both consecutive bets. If you fail to win two in a row at any of the levels, you keep progressing through the betting series. In other words, if you lose the first $1 bet, and then you lose the next $1 bet, and then you win the third $1 bet but then lose the parlayed bet at that level, then you would go onto the first $2 bet to look if you can capture two consecutive wins. Here is my question . . . I have been told that if you are using this betting progression in a game that has a 1.41% home edge against you, that your chances of losing every nine levels (in other words, failing to win two consecutive bets at any of the 9 betting levels), is 8.159 percent. Is that accurate? That means that I can expect to lose that entire betting series about every 12th time. My other question is, what is that percentage if the series is 6 levels instead of 9: So what if the betting series looked like this instead: 1-1-1-2-2-4 What would be the odds of failing to win two consecutive wagers in that 1-1-1-2-2-4 series in a game that has a 1.41% home edge against you? Thanks for your help and let me know if you have any questions! Huckleberry, thanks for your help . . . The game I'm talking about is craps. Let's say I'm betting the pass line each time. My actual odds of winning that bet are 251:244. The odds I'm paid if I win it are 1:1. That amounts to a home edge of 1.41%. (Got every that from Wikipedia). wish that helps and let me know if you need any more clarification. Huckleberry, thank you for the additional response. You answered my question, nice job on that!! However, since I am a little slow on the math, what would the percentage arrive out to for a six-level series? Even though you explained the equation, I still do not know how to calculate that. Thanks. As for the others suggesting this is not a good way to bet -- yes, I'm quite aware of that. That was not the point of this question. But thanks anyway. Huckleberry --- I look that you ALREADY answered my 6-level question. THANK YOU!!! You answered my question fully, and I really appreciate it!!

Open Question: Is it legal for someone to spend money raised for medical expenses on vacations and gambling?
Someone I know put on a benefit to help him pay for medical expenses related to a terminal disease and a organ transplant. Thousands of dollars were raised and put into a account for him to use to pay these expenses. This person has received the transplant and is medically doing amazing. He is now using this money to go on vacations and gamble at a local casino on a daily basis. Is this legal for him to do this? People gave money to help with medical expenses....not to feed his gambling problem or his need to go on multiple vacations in a few months time. It doesn't seem right.

In this country in most states you are considered an Adult 18 in 3 states you are legal at 19 in Alabama in Nebraska 19 and Mississippi 21.Mississippi is the only state that has it correct. The legal Age of Majority which is for becoming an Adult should be 21 in every states it should be mandated like the Drinking age and Voting age.People dont look 18 year olds as Adults they cant rent a car drink gamble cause casinos have alchohol in it or be a candidate. At 18-21 you are in School College in dorms and your parents are paying for people parents should encourage people to go to College and graduate.RIGHT NOW THERE IS A PETITION TO receive THE DRINKING AGE 18 AND VOTING AGE 16.The goverment is not gonna do this so lets do something more convincing like the MAjority age and Drinking age the same and lift Voting age to 21.I have a 19 yaer old son who wonders if he is even an Adullt or not I know hes not grown but hes confused. The drinking age has caused a confusion as to when a person becomes an Adult.

Open Question: whats your thought on the netherlands!?
whats your opinion of being able to buy pot [weed,Maryjane, ganja, marijuana] in quaint little stores and legalized rent gals frolicking in storefront windows for sex. people from Holland are so nice! . someone said they discount the elderly and the disabled. do you think we should have some legalized vices other than gambling.are we missing the boat? yeah,i know about the rabbit ranch [HBO] and it looks mighty tacky! and the girls look old and sleepy! u think this might work? keep the peace forgot to mention that there are rules and regulations on the public sex. you think it does not go on in the sainted USA. it is not allowed close kids, schools, playgrounds and only nights. it is for those people that want outdoor sex. ive seen plenty of sex on the beach and elsewhere on south beach. if i passed it. i stopped for a sec and went on my way. sex is so so taboo in the usa but we adore our violent movies and guns are everywhere.you have to admit that volence is part of american culture and admired by many rap cultures in the usa.

My other question is, what is that percentage if the series is 6 levels instead of 9: So what if the betting series looked like this instead: 1-1-1-2-2-4 What would be the odds of failing to win two consecutive wagers in that series in a game that has a 1.41% home edge against you? Thanks for your help and let me know if you have any questions!

Open Question: I don't have enough money in my bank to cover my Echeck to online gambling site. What's gonna happen?
This wasn't at every intentional. I have a gambling addiction and I was very drunk one night. I didn't realize that echecks dont clear right away. So I deposited about 600 USD via echeck to an online gambling site. I lost it every. Then I checked my online bank account and was like "Oh I still have $650?!" (Granted, I was very drunk) I made a deposit with my debit card for 500 bucks on a different site, which went through right away. The next morning I realized that the echecks didn't go through yet, and now I only have like 50 bucks in my bank account, and 600 bucks that still haven't gone through yet. So, my question is...what can I expect to happen? I have family who can bail me out of problems, but I at least first need to know what I'm getting into. Is the gambling site going to receive the money and put my checking account at about a negative $500? Or Will the checks be rejected, and nothing happen with my bank accounts, just my poker account go into a negative balance and my account locked? If anyone knows the answers as to what is going to happen, please let me know. I realize it was stupid and I am going to seek treatment for my gambling problem. Its was very foolish and I will never allow myself to do anything that stupid again. Can anyone tell me what to expect to happen? Thanks! -Cory

Open Question: Christians, what is sin, how do we know we are saved, please read all?
Romans 14:23 ...everything that does not arrive from faith is sin. This is why salvation is a gift, not because you prayed a prayer! Ephesians 2:8 For it is by grace you have been saved, *through faith What is faith? Let me ask you… If you are sure, if you are certain, if you know… no doubt in your mind you’re going to win the lottery you would buy a lottery ticket right? Remember at this point it is not gambling! Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we wish for and certain of what we do not look. If you are sure, if you are certain, if you know… no doubt in your mind Christ is God… you better receive to carrying your cross!!! John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. What did Christ do? He fulfilled the law… Romans 13:10 adore does no hurt to its neighbor. Therefore adore is the fulfillment of the law. What did Christ command? John 13:34 "A new command I give you: adore one another. As I have loved you, so you must adore one another. What is adore? Romans 13:10 …adore is the fulfillment of the law. Therefore if you adore you will follow the Law! John 14:15 "If you adore me, you will obey what I command. @Alfred Lord Tennis anyone Your notion of repentance is skewed! Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may arrive from the Lord, Repentance is a turning from sin to God! Matthew 3:8 Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. John 15:8 This is to my dad's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Open Question: Jack Neo Sex Trilogy - Hope u all agree with my views?
This is a classic case of a lose lose scenario. No one stand to gain except becoming the talk of the town. Some comments expressed compassion, understanding & support for Wendy, Jack's wife and even for Jack. Some are downright brutal taking sides either with Wendy or Jack and condemning the other party. My take is this, for Wendy, she is just emotionally immature so pls ppl, cease callling her a slut. And its not her age either. I have seen ppl much older than 22 and yet so emotionally immature. Initial vanity & greed got her into this precarious gamble & probably evolved into something much deeper emotionallys and she cant receive out after. Can happen to anyone. Spilled the beans out of spite, anger and bitterness probably & not out to crucify Jack . For Jack, his ability as a breadwinner and successful actor & filmmaker and his competency as a dad is not called to question. I also believe there is more than 2 or 3 women.Simply put, he is a player or sex intolerant or degenerate and I make it clear not bcos he was seduced, tempted or the entertainment industry or some disorder like OCD, sex addiction, Wendy, blah blah... It is not possible for him to change his ways no matter how much remorse & regret he has. Even if he truly exercise physical self control intermittently..haha, he will turn to pornography, online sex chats, mental porns of ppl he knows.or any other substitutes. hehe... migrating to e-platform from the traditional brick & mortar. Thats no different from my book no matter how u slice it. In summary, his wife must divorce him and move on and Jack must continue to uphold his responsibility as dad to his kids and provide, provide and provide. He will always be their dad and he can continue to be a player for the relax of his natural life. The real problem is he made a bad call years ago in getting married and have kids. I m sure he loves his wife but u cant have both, bro, a player and a husband. The worst mistake in the history of bad mistakes. Stay low for some time guys and went things blow over, life goes on. Jack, yr PBM & yr success in film making is still intact, in my books anyways. Cheers

Open Question: 18 and in Biloxi, Mississippi?
My boyfriend and I are going to be in Biloxi, Mississippi, for the weekend and are wondering what is there to do for people our age? We are both 18 and have a hotel room in the area [his parent's gift to me for my birthday the following week] for the weekend. No offense, but I'm not too excited about museums and anything historic. Remember: we're young, free and life is just beginning for ourselves. Though, I don't hate aquariums, haha. We can't gamble or go to any of the casino buffets since we're below 21, but there has to be something we can do outside the hotel room. Of course we'll be having fun down on the beaches, but maybe there are some clubs we can hit? Parks of some sort? Malls? Any and every ideas are welcome unless uncalled for, lol :P Thank you thank you!!!

Open Question: What should I do with my bonus?Something for me, the wife, or the family?
I just got an unexpected $5K bonus at work. Here is what I am planning on doing with it, please tell me what choice I should take. 1) Spring break vacation for family. 2) A decent size diamond for the wife 3) New TV, even though we already have 2 nice ones. 4) Don't tell the family about the bonus, tell them I have a business trip, and spend the money in vegas on strippers, booze and gambling. I'm just really not sure what the right thing to do is here. I don't keep a balance on the credit cards. I pay them off each month. Doesn't everyone? I am a responsible person. And #4 was supposed to be silly. I would never go every the way to Vegas just to receive strippers. There are plenty here :)
